Certain persons in the Waking World are born more in tune with the Cosmos than others, and find themselves able to cast what many would consider magic, and without official runes. The nature of a magic user’s affinity often seems to parallel the overall trajectory of their lives and personalities. Whether the magic is what causes people to develop in such ways or the magic is caused by people’s personalities instead… is a topic much debated in a particular organization’s lecture halls.

However, all magic has consequences; this includes any affinity-based spells that a magic user casts. For those who survive learning to control their abilities, many consequences are to their mental healths.
