There exists a written language that keeps the V̸̤͔̪̙̭̪͕̺͇̜̘̠̙̤̩͈͓̮̠̟̟́̋́͑͛̌̒̕͝͝o̸̡̨̙̱̥̯̠̘͖̗̩̩̯̤̹͉͖͓̜̟̒̄̾̿̇̈́̿̒̈́̄͝͠ͅi̸̢̛̤̜̟̮̗̯̣͓̱̙̳̯̪̳͍̙̹̱̰̬̼̻͖̼͉̣̲̬̅̽̾̓̿̓̕͘͘͜͝d̵̛̛̛̻̍́̓̏̒͋́̅̏͑̌̐̂͘. and the Waking World apart, and it calls upon the energy threaded in between the Cosmos’ seams. Those who don’t need to use this language to call upon Cosmic energy are considered Magic Users by the small percentage of the Waking World that knows about them.
Unlike all other languages, however, runes have a strict usage system to follow and should not be written in any arbitrary, stylistic manner (unless one is certain of what they’ll be inciting). Even the speed at which one writes can dramatically affect any desirable outcome, though not all runes need written to be cast; they merely need performed. Informed V̸̤͔́̋́͑͛̌̒̕͝͝o̸̒̄̾̿̇̈́̿̒̈́̄͝͠i̸̢̛̤̜̟̅̽̾̓̿̓̕͘͘͝d̵̛̛̛̻̍́̓̏̒͋́̅̏͑̌̐̂͘ Dwellers opt to use runes for destruction, while informed Waking World inhabitants tend to use them for protection.
There are, of course, exceptions to every rule.
